OFFICE / PERSONNEL POSITIONS

Assistant Controller - Green Lake, WI

  • Position: Full-Time
  • Terminal: Corporate Headquarters - Green Lake, WI
  • Work Schedule: 8AM to 5PM; Monday through Friday
  • Description
    • FLASH is looking for a motivated individual to provide direct assistance to our Vice President/Controller. He/she will assist with the financial, accounting, and IT functions of our business. This position will also serve as a backup for our transload administrator. Many areas of this position require strict confidentiality.
  • Job Duties
    • Provide support to the Controller/Vice President as it relates to…
      • Financial reporting; including reconciliations, data analysis, and specialized reports
      • Accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, general ledger, payroll, and billing reports
      • Internal audits - Information technology, including daily maintenance, oversight, and troubleshooting PCs
      • Assist in preparing for annual external audits and assist auditors with the examination.
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate Degree (Business Administration or Accounting) OR 5+ years progressive experience in Finance/Accounting.  
    • Must have computer experience to include Microsoft Office. 
    • Information Technology background
    • Organized, self-starter, and multi-tasking ability

Service Writer / Parts Inventory Manager - Green Lake, WI

  • Position: Full-Time
  • Terminal: Corporate Headquarters - Green Lake, WI
  • Work Schedule: 8AM to 5PM; Monday through Friday; Saturdays, as necessary; Night and weekend calls, as necessary
  • Description
    • Schedule equipment repairs
    • Schedule and monitor preventative maintenance
    • Review driver's daily inspection reports and schedule repairs accordingly
    • Monitor and review mechanics' work for completeness
    • Complete Work Orders and enter into computerized maintenance system
    • Monitor and schedule on-road repairs
    • Track Parts Inventory
      • Relieve parts
      • Order parts and supplies
      • Enter parts and supplies into inventory tracking system
    • Manage fuel inventories at all FLASH regional terminals
    • Manage employee uniforms
    • Review all vendor invoices for correctness
    • Code all invoices for Accounts Payable
  • Requirements: Experience as a maintenance scheduler and parts inventory management is helpful but is not necessary. Computer skills required; Microsoft Office and Internet

Driver Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • One year of current tractor/trailer driving experience
  • Good driving and work record
  • Pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screen
  • US Passport or Passport Card (required for OTR and Utility positions; preferred for local; some local positions may require a Passport)

Essential Functions of all Driver Positions: Drivers must be able to perform the following functions and expect to do so on a consistent basis throughout the course of his/her shift. This list is not comprehensive and may include other functions.

  • Ability to drive for as many as 11 hours in one shift (12 hours with certain state exceptions)
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in the tractor
  • Report to Dispatch at a specified time
  • Maintain communication with Dispatch via on-board computers throughout shift
  • Lift and carry hoses up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing in and out of tractor, on top of trailer, and on top of railcars.
  • Bending repeatedly.
  • Crouching, walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to understand and do simple math.
  • Able to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Comply with all other company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and New Hire Guide.
